Overview

The following steps are normally taken to design instructional materials. These steps are followed regardless of whether the materials are print-based or electronically based.

  • Establish lesson plan format,
  • Develop instructor manual,
  • Prepare learning activities , and
  • Prepare learner workbook.

The NRCS adopted lesson plan format is linked above. The format should be used for all print materials and modified as necessary for electronically based materials.

The development of materials should include research into whether materials already exist in or outside NRCS that could be used or modified.

All materials should be well thought out and prepared in a professional manner.
