Preventing Sexual Harassment (000152)

Overview

This self-study Guide was developed to assist NRCS employees to identify the principles of Sexual Harassment. The Guide offers information concerning Department of Agriculture policy concerning sex discrimination and sexual harassment. The Guide also provides practical information on how to prevent sexual harassment, understanding roles and responsibilities, how to recognize and respond appropriately to potentially harassing situations, and the role and responsibility of managers and supervisors.

Objectives

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • state the NRCS policy regarding sex discrimination and sexual harassment;
  • identify the laws, regulations, and policies prohibiting sex discrimination and sexual harassment in the work place;
  • define and differentiate between sex discrimination and sexual harassment
  • recognize behaviors and situations that might constitute sexual harassment;
  • identify techniques to prevent sexual harassment; and
  • identify techniques to handle possible harassing situations.

Enrollment instructions are provided below.  Be sure to select the appropriate link to ensure successful enrollment. 

The NRCS eLearning Center is an application used by the NEDC to manage self study learning opportunities and Web-based tests.  It has a number of features including printable certificates and options to email results of tests to your supervisor.  Additional features such as automatically updating training records will be added soon.

If you have any difficulty with the NRCS eLearning Center please contact Sudhakhar Sriparameswaran (Sudha).

Once you initially login to the NRCS eLearning Center, it is not necessary to login again to return to any Web-based course content, if you bookmark the site.  You will however have to login to the NRCS eLearning Center to access the exam at the end of the course.

It is necessary for your system to have pop up windows enabled to view Web-based course content and take exams.

USDA Employees

Proceed to the NRCS eLearning Center to login using your WebCAAF eAuthentication ID and password.  This is the same as your WebTCAS ID and password.

Customers (including TSPs) and Partner Employees

If you are anticipating becoming a Technical Service Provider please review the entire process at TechReg.  Please familiarize yourself with this process if you have not already done so.  Specific instructions on securing a USDA user account and password are located at getting started.

The General Public

As a member of the general public you may enroll only in the Web-based courses with a level 1 account. To enroll in self-study courses where materials are mailed to you, you must establish a Level 2 accounts with USDA.
