Planning and Contracting in Indian Country (000137)OverviewThe Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (Farm Bill) provides more opportunities then any other farm bill for American Indians/Alaska Natives to participate in agricultural conservation programs. NRCS started laying this foundation in 1992 by providing the "Working Effectively with American Indians (Harmony)" Training. Advance training of field people through this course will enhance the opportunities provided in the new Farm Bill (2002) for effectively working with American Indian Tribes and ANCSA (Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act) Corporations . The course will provide an in depth step-by-step process that spells out what tools and background are needed to promote successful delivery of NRCS technical services and programs.
