Introduction to the Field Office Technical Guide (000149)
Overview
The Field Office Technical Guide is the primary technical reference for the
Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). It contains technical information
about the conservation of soil, water, air, plant, and animal resources. The
FOTG is managed by NRCS state technical specialists, but contains technical
knowledge and standards used by field conservationists at the local level. This course is the
foundation for additional training and experience needed to plan and apply
conservation practices to on-the-ground situations.

Upon completion of this programs, participants will be able to:
- describe the contents of the Field Office Technical Guide (FOTG),
- access its contents,
- explain it's importance, and
- describe the science and technologies used to conserve natural
resources.
