Civil Rights Compliance in Program Delivery (000002)

Overview

This training will provide general information on how various Civil Rights laws, rules, and regulations interface to form the foundation for equal access in program delivery. It will, through lecture, student participation in exercises, and class discussions, expand the knowledge of participants in the following areas: civil rights laws and regulations, responsibilities of employees regarding program delivery; diversity and cross-cultural communication; program outreach; use of management tools; representation on boards; and the program assessment process. It will equip participants in how to interact, and communicate effectively with partners, program recipients, and stakeholders. It also will provide opportunities for participants to review program delivery in different cultural settings, and appreciation for differentiated perspectives.

Objectives

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

• Explain the basis for civil rights compliance in program delivery
• Evaluate the social and cultural characteristics that influence program delivery
• Describe NRCS board/council role and functions
• List the procedure and process the NRCS use to broaden boards/councils representation to be more inclusive
• Provide specific list of steps for effective outreach program delivery
• Establish factors to access the effectiveness of compliance in program delivery
• Identify existing management tools and explain how they are used to promote civil rights in compliance delivery
