Orientation for New Employees (NRCS-NEDC-000013)

Overview 

This course provides participants an awareness of the work by our Agency in carrying out our mission and vision. The course uses classroom and field trips to demonstrate to employees how NRCS and our Conservation Partners work together to conserve, maintain and improve natural resources while meeting our customers' needs. It focuses on the diversity of the conservation environment in which we work in getting conservation applied to the land. The course also builds on subject matter covered in the prerequisite, Introduction to NRCS.

Objectives 

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • List and describe various types of field work performed by NRCS in carrying out its mission,
  • Identify various conservation customers and partners of NRCS, and
  • Identify important actions and responsibilities that can influence an employee's career.

Prerequisites 

Introduction to NRCS (NRCS-NEDC-000008), its a web-based course, go to Aglearn to register and complete the course.

Duration 

4 days

Target Audience 

All permanent full-time employees are required to attend this course within the first 12 months of their employment.
